September 8, 2022 -- about a month in!

Makin good memories in the mexico mtc!

Today was my first legit p day, we enjoyed an amazing endowment session totally in Spanish at the mexico city temple, I'm happy to say, I understood a good amount of it! an absolutely gorgeous temple with a really cool history.

The mexico city temple's land is to this day owned by the Mexican government,
Because when it was built the law of the land was
: a church couldn't purchase a large piece of land for a place of worship.
So for while, they held off building a temple in mexico, although the people of South america and Spain were so desperate for a temple performing ordinances in Spanish, they traveled many thousands of miles to the Mesa Arizona temple, selling ALL they had, and renting busses to recieve these amazing blessings and most of them never had the chance to return to any temple again.

A church authority decided to do something, his idea was to write a contract to rent the land from the Mexican government to build a temple in mexico city. This would mean at anytime the authorities could come in and search the building, so they built a gorgeous visitor center, show them that first, then if they really need to search/see the inside they would close it down, and rededicate the temple later. And it was worth the risk even if they had to do this every week simply because of the major necessity of a temple in South america.
Luckily this temple has not been closed and rededicated for this reason.

Thanks for reading this far I just find that story fascinating!
About MTC we've been enjoying some amazing rain and cool breeze weather, (my favorite) I heard Utah is pretty hot right now, also getting swole in the gym with my sweet companion!
Lots and lots of class!!
Its been fun I'm enjoying it!

August 29, 2022 -- Im leaving tuesday!

Not much to report, I love the work we are doing and I am stoked to fly the nest and begin training in la ciudad de méxico ccm.

I got to meet my companion in person which was amazing, once again he is hilarious and we work well together. We are going to make a lot of trouble in Mexico because whenever we are in class together we cannot stop laughing. I feel the spirit most through laughter and music so it works out just fine!

Love you all! good luck with school, missions, work, etc!

August 20, 2022 -- Holy frijoles amigo

My first week as a missionary is all done,

I don't have much to write about seeing as I've been sitting in a chair for 9 hours a day staring at a computer. It's been great though! I have a companion whose name is Elder Belnap. He is a mega goofball and trouble maker ( such as myself ) . We have a stinkin lot in common which I know is not a coincidence. I have a funny story: on wednesday I believe, we were sitting in our evening zoom class with our teacher Elder Benitez, I was paying attention to the class and I saw my companion reach down and pull out an asian rice field hat and put it on. The class was so confused, I messaged him and said: DUDE I have a hat just like that!, he replied: GO GET IT!
So. I asked the teacher...  El maestro? ¿Puedo ir al baño? which means can I go to the bathroom. He said sure so I ran downstairs, grabbed it, and wore it for the remainder of class, everybody thought it was funny. Some might say this drove away the spirit but I disagree, everyone in my district especially me was zoning out big time so when Elder Belnap and I put on those goofy hats the whole class was focused and engaged once again. Sometimes I leave the door to my office ajar and Jojo will storm in and attack me haha.
Right now I am at home online MTC which is definitely not my favorite thing to do, it's only for 2 weeks though so next tuesday aug 30th i'm flying out to the Mexico City MTC and that I am very excited for.
Anyways thanks for reading, more goofy adventure stories to come. enjoy some pictures
